I legit love that today is the day we celebrate Eugene and Lance getting high as kites and singing about how much they love each other.

But it's also the day that Rapunzel unlocked the most terrifying spell she uses in the course of the franchise. Do y'all remember how crazy we went the first time we saw the Reverse Incantation?

It was also the day we met Hector, and the day we got a lore dump on the Brotherhood. It's the day we learned more about Zhan Tiri, the day Cassanra burned her arm and the rift between her and Rapunzel was cemented.

"Rapunzel and the Great Tree" is an amazing episode.

And speaking of the decay incantation, @th3p0rtalmaker and @tbspirits, I’m half tempted to write a scene similar to this one from Dragon Prince where Claudia attacks a dragon but for Cassandra…in which she uses the decay incantation 😈😈😈 Probably for the first time. I have no idea what the antagonist would be but Cass would just be pushed to her limit and is now itching to prove that she’s not that subservient obedient little lady in waiting anymore. She is the Moonstone, and you will not make her afraid.

swings a pocket watch in front of you. oohhh you want to learn about afflatus. you want to understand the ecological cycle between them explained in the early stages of the game and the themes they represent. mineral and plant referring to community and groups vs beast and star referring to isolation and the individual. ohhhh you want to look into them. you want to understand the differences between how mineral refers to the solid systems and traditions and unmovable concepts that rule this world, manmade or not vs how plant refers to the everchanging adapting systems found in nature that inherently belong in this world

ohhhh yes you want to understand that the beast afflatus refers to the underdog's fight against an environment that doesnt allow space for them vs the star afflatus isolation of being singled out due to a trait or talent that sets you apart from your environment. hence why beast is weak against mineral (its an individual at disadvantage vs an entire system that works against them) and why mineral is weak against star (its the established rules and traditions vs the trailblazing genius that can topple societies. and why star is weak against plant (its the revolutionary against the rules of nature that states everything must change, you are not special for causing change) and why plant is weak against beast (its the harmony of a community being destroyed from inside by an individual seeking something for themselves)

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you want to study in-game details and analyze them to see the full picture of a character you want to understand that dikke is not a cruel judge because her incantations are attack and heal and they both have flavor text that differentiates between justice for those who need it and the abuse of power. because shes not heartless nor strictly cold, shes attempting to make a difference from inside a corrupt system.

ohhhhh you want to understand that pavia is not a broken person who is touchstarved for community because he has made himself his own community as seen with his incantations and gamemode that highlights he's much happier doing whatever the fuck he wants on his own without restraint. ohhhhhhh you want to understand the reason 37 and regulus butt heads so much is because they're two sides of the star afflatus experience, but both of them are equally as smart and equally as valid as geniuses in their own righ

o hhhhhhhhh you want to understand that afflatus refers to the experiences someone goes through and explains why they are like this as people, hence why life changing explanations can change your afflatus and this is why kakania was INTELLECT in 1.7 but she became PLANT in 1.9 in the main story oooooooooooooooooo

I'm gonna say Gothel appearing in Rapunzel's nightmare at the beginning of "What the Hair?!" While I was watching it, I screamed so loud that my neighbor asked me if I was okay. XD

Runner up was Varian's turn to villainy at the end of "Queen For a Day".

Other things that would have surprised me more, had I not been spoiled on them before the episode aired in the US, would be the Reverse Incantation and finding out that Vigor was Demanitus. In fact, the whole Demanitus thing was so surprising that when people would throw their theories and conjecture my way for that point forward, I would always reply, "The monkey is Demanitus! Anything is possible!" In fact, I have an entire tag for "The monkey is Demanitus" XD

If I had to attempt to justify it, I'd say it's because Rapunzel still has the Sundrop DNA in her, and Cassandra still has that tiny shard of the Moonstone.

I just realized something the other day and I’m not entirely sure if it’s a plot hole or not

So of course we all know ZT breaks out the decay incantation during the fight it’s spreading through the entire kingdom

It’s slowly killing everyone

So why the heck aren’t Cass and Rapunzel affected??? 🤨 The rocks that make up their cage also turned black, and clearly ZT’s method for the incantation doesn’t need to be heard or anything, it just spreads. It just makes no sense. Especially when you factor in the facts ghat Rapunzel is no longer protected and Cass has been touched by the decay incantation

I am curious, what happens to a character when they "die" in the battlefield? Like we know they don't actually die in a literal sense since we can still access them in the suitcase after the battle. But what do you think happens? Like what is the process?

My thoughts on how it works is like basketball. When a player gets injured heavily and cannot play anymore (like dying on the battlefield), then there is a timeout or foul and they are replaced by a player on the bench (or the 4th team member in their Udimo form). The injured player is immediately rushed for medical attention and the rest of team continues on without them.

For example, I remember a time when my sister was playing and Avgust passed away suddenly and Windsong came out of the suitcase from her Udimo form to replace him (he was quickly avenged). I also wonder what happens when a kid is injured like that. Will they rush them to Laplace like they did with Erick on her character anecdote (when she started losing conciousness and bleeding)? What would that scenario be like in Avgust's case?

I feel like not only does it depend on the enemy but also the circumstances. Like, if you get defeated by a simple enemy that launches common arcane skills, it's not as dangerous and can be treated with simple healing spells.

I'll get into details after.

As for how, yeah it might be as simple as that, for us and the enemy. If we're going with the "arcanists randomly appear to kick ass" we can assume that when one gets injured or unable to fight anymore (due to whatever circumstances), another selected arcanist walks out to take their place while the other is escorted inside for treatment.

Same with our enemy because, as a common saying here goes: "Lo que es bueno pal pavo es bueno pa la pava" (it means if a thing applies to a certain group or person, it's valid to apply it to another group or person)

So you have to wait for your enemy to be carried away and replaced by another enemy, it's only fair.

I believe there's a small fear over sending young arcanists outside due to their arcanum and resistance. If someone like August were to get hurt by an ultimate, they'd have to carry him to the foundation for his safety and health. The foundation can provide a more thorough examination for the injured arcanists and the more gravely damaged, especially children who are under Tooth Fairy's jurisdiction.

The damage also depends on if it was an ultimate or if it was a normal attack, and also the type of enemy. A boss defeating your ally with an ultimate can and will get them to an emergency room unless they're known for applying shield or high resistance skills which may minimize, but not eliminate, all damage.

Kakania, Ezra and Eternity who damage themselves during attacks may receive a different treatment due to constant injuries. Semmelweis doesn't count as her body is different from a normal arcanist's, she might need to drink blood even if she's reluctant or doesn't want to.

Kids are less sent outside to fight unless the enemy doesn't cause as much damage.

And I haven't read Erick's anecdote 😓

In a more specific Avgust case, it's definitely a formal friend or Windsong (Vila doesn't cast any attack incantation so I'm not counting her) who takes his place and also helps the team carry him. If Vila is in the team, she has a harder time staying put so she applies health incantations almost immediately so Avgust can rush to Tooth Fairy (or in a more serious case, Laplace) with less pain. If she's not, you bet your life she's carrying that kid through the halls like a mad woman.
